Hi guys welcome back to my blog, it’s been a few weeks since I last posted and that’s because I took a small trip to Disneyland Paris. I was so excited to get back to the magic that I didn’t even announce to my followers, my last trip got cancelled a week before I was due to leave and I couldn’t face that happening again so I waited till I was in the park before telling everyone.
Upon arrival I decided to go into the park even though it was 2 hours before park close, some might say that’s crazy but not for me I got to do some of my favourite rides in this time and I enjoyed being in the magic essentially a day before I was supposed to. Im excited to announce that I will be going back to Disney in June for see all the 30th anniversary things that are happening, Im going to try and avoid spoilers although I did see some of the decorations slowly going up on my trip.
Will you be visiting for 30th anniversary?
Most people cry at the site of the castle once again but not me I was crying when I went into Frontierland and saw Big thunder mountain. If you didn’t already know it’s my favourite ride and if I don’t ride it every day then it’s not a successful day.
During my first full day I managed to ride all my favourite rides as well as taking 100’s of photos in front of the newly painted Sleeping Beauty Castle. I decided I wanted to go live on Instagram to share with everyone that I was in Disney, and so many people were shocked as I normally do trip announcements and pre travel videos. Stars on Parade was running although it was adapted due to strong winds, some performers weren’t on the floats where they should have been and a couple of floats were missing due to the construction of the float. Watching illuminations again was amazing I managed to get a reservation for the infinity annual pass area which is right in front of the castle meaning I was able to stay seated throughout which is a big bonus. Day 1 was a long day and I couldn’t wait to start my next days in the park.
Magic hours has returned to Walt Disney studios which means the mad rush for Crush Coaster is in full force, I of course joined this queue as I thought it would be the shortest wait time I would get. Little did I know Crush had other ideas and didn’t open until 9 due to technical issues. My thoughts were if Im on the ride by 9:30 Ive only waited an hour which would be the shortest time I had seen. I spent some more time in the Studios where I got to meet Black Widow herself she was amazing and sent me on a mission in search of Loki in case he escaped from Captain Marvel’s careful watch. Just before lunch time I headed back to the main park to get some more photos in front of the castle before hitting some of my favourite rides once again. Once again I watched the parade and it seemed to return to some kind of normal although some characters were still absent. In the time between the parade and illuminations I seemed to just wonder around a little and take in the fact I was back in Disney. I watched illuminations once more from the infinity viewing area where I was able to stay seated once more. I can’t recommend the infinity viewing area enough if your thinking about getting an annual pass or you are an infinity pass holder don’t hesitate to book it. The only issue is that it’s for pass holders only you can’t take a guest in with you. My day didn’t end there tonight was the night I headed into Hotel New York the Art of Marvel to have dinner at the Downtown restaurant, how can I begin to discribe my experience. The food was amazing, the decoration is amazing, if you can get a reservation you will not be disappointed.
Day 3 saw me heading in for magic hours at Walt Disney studios once more, I headed straight for Crush and waited in total 45 mins which is a win as the rest of the day the wait time was at least 75 mins. I headed straight back to the main park to take part in the fantasyland challenge which was set by The Kershaws adventures, the challenge is to complete all 9 rides in the quickest time, there are a few rules to follow so check out there video explaining them all. https://youtu.be/Xq3pw6mrNzc I managed to complete the challenge in 3 hours 15mins if small world was open I think I would have got in under 3 hours but due to the closure I had to add 20 mins to my time. After a busy morning I decided to have a chilled out day, going on solo trips it’s hard to gain the motivation to keep going once again as you haven’t got others saying let’s do this now or should we ride this. I opted to skip the parade but I still watched illuminations at park close which I was going to do as I normally ride big thunder as the fireworks go off but I was too tired to walk around and wait in queue lines. I headed to Billy bobs for dinner and didn’t have the best experience, food was ok not as good as the tex mex at Santa Fe, I asked the waiter for some water and 10 mins went past still no water. It’s not somewhere I will be going back to I will stick to the tex mex at Santa Fe it’s a far better experience.
Last day in the park and once more I went straight to Crush to get that done before doing anything else, I then did all the rides in Toy Story play land before heading back to the main park to try and get a Mastercard ticket for the Lion King shows return. I was successful but you need to be there early they release the tickets 2 hours before the show but you need to arrive at City Hall around 2.5 hours before and just wait the 30 mins. These tickets are free with a Mastercard and a form of ID you can up to 4 with each card. When entering the show you get in first alongside the guests who opted to pay for guaranteed access. The seats are in the middle section meaning you get the best view, there are still loads of seats, the theatre is huge and can definitely seat 1000 people. This show is amazing it’s a bunch of classic Lion King songs along with dancing, acro tricks which follows some parts of the story. I took it easy for most of the day as it didn’t want to be too tired as I was heading home late, the solo traveller slum hit me big time today and I didn’t want to wait in long queues especially as I had waited in shorter lines on previous days. It got to the time when I had to start making my way back into central Paris to get the Eurostar back home.
